What is your teaching philosophy?

What do you teach?

We specialize in introducing first-timers to firearms. We have a solid curriculum that covers everything from safe storage to safe handling. If you're not a first-timer, but a little rusty, we can still help you!

What equipment do you use for instruction?

We believe that the first time can make or break a person's interest in firearms. Based on our past experience with instruction, we have a strong preference for using a .22LR rifle.

Can I bring my own equipment?

Absolutely. If you already own a rifle, bring it with you so we can make sure that you are familiarized and comfortable with it by the end of the class.

What is the duration of the class?

We cover about 8 hours worth of instruction, including range time.

How many students do you teach in a class?

For safety reasons, we limit group classes to 4 students.

How much does it cost, and what's included?

The cost includes instructor time, printed materials, firearm use, and ammo. There is a separate $30/student charge payable to the range.

Why don't you have any instructor names on the website?

In the interest of privacy, we have chosen to not disclose personally identifying information online.

Why don't share your email address on the website?

To protect against spam, we are using Google Forms instead of posting our email address online.

Where are your classes held?

In the vicinty of Ithaca/Freeville. The exact location will be disclosed to students who sign up for a class.
